Hey there! I’m Sylvia—an Edmonton-based, Polish-born Canadian who somehow traded law enforcement and investigations for trail maps. My background’s in Economics, not social media, but I’ve always believed in learning by doing. When I’m not working full time or hanging out with my 12-year-old daughter/roommate Stella, I’m usually somewhere in the wild—hiking, chasing lake reflections, or skiing when the snow hits. The Canadian Rockies have completely stolen my heart, and I hope to inspire others to find a little peace and wonder out there too. The world’s a bit wild—so let’s get outside together.

Thousands of tired , nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigation rivers, but as fountains of life. – John Muir
